From the age of 18 multiple people, at various points in my life, looked at me and said the same thing: you should be in real estate. I ignored all of them... For a while.
I’d experienced a couple of career paths from culinary school to wedding planning...when my best friend, who’d just become a life coach, took me through a series of exercises. I answered all the questions, and the conclusion was: Nikki should do real estate.
But how was I going to become a REALTOR®—at 40, as a single mom with no savings and temporarily living with my family? The idea of starting over in a commission-based industry was terrifying. Not to mention, my ego was a little bruised; my 30s had been one long lesson in humility.
The path that eventually led me to real estate began years earlier, when I landed a job at Continental Airlines, (now United Airlines). Thirteen and a half years of customer service taught me everything about people, but I hated the actual job. The perks, though— traveling for “free” flying first class anywhere—were hard to give up.
Even then, I always had side hustles: promotional marketing gigs and working in the fitness industry. When I turned 30, I was hired by Lifestyle Family Fitness and became the top-producing female in a male-dominated industry. Not only did I triple my income, but I bought a condo, which was my first personal real estate experience—it was an amazing accomplishment for me at that time.
Although I was grateful for my professional success, working 14-hour days 7 days a week led to physical exhaustion. For my health, I had to slow down and phase out of the gym industry. Then came the biggest twist: I became a single mom at 35. I had once been told by a doctor that I could never have kids, so my pregnancy came as a huge shock—but also an incredible gift.
I moved to Northeast Florida to be closer to my aunt and uncle, who were my rocks, so they could help me raise my miracle daughter, Shaelyn Faith. My priorities shifted—now it was about providing for her and being present. That’s when my best friend nudged me toward real estate.
I hesitated—how could I make it work? So in the meantime, I took a “safe” job, working as an account executive in corporate America. I loved the people, but I hated the job, but it paid the bills. My boss noticed and basically said, “This isn’t a good fit for you. You should be in real estate.” She wasn’t alone. People in my life kept saying the same thing. I got my real estate license in the fall of 2013. I finally found great joy and purpose in this industry.
In that same season, I met my husband, Mike, in the most unexpected way—through a Facebook post honoring his late wife, Mary, who had touched my life as well. As a young adult, I wanted the fairy-tale romance, and life simply hadn’t gone that way. “Unthinkably good things can happen, even late in the game. It’s such a surprise.” (Under the Tuscan Sun)
So when Mike and I connected so deeply, I never saw it coming. Our whirlwind romance blended our families, and suddenly, I was a mom to four. We met in December and married in May and have been together for 12 plus years now. It’s funny how both my career and love life found resolution at the same time.
Outside of work, I decompress myself through fitness, dancing, and cuddling my fur babies Whiskey and Rylee. I hit the gym early most mornings and dance twice a week. I’m a foodie at heart, and love hosting themed dinner parties for friends and family. Hosting is my superpower; nothing brings me more joy than bringing people together.
Looking back... every restart, heartbreak, and leap of faith shaped who I am. I’m beyond grateful for the twists and turns because they led me here: living my purpose, helping others find their homes, and building a legacy of love.
My focus as an agent is on building genuine relationships and providing a concierge, boutique experience for my clients. I’m a connector at heart—I don’t see my work as transactional, but as an opportunity to help people and become a part of their lives. Many of my clients become friends, and I’m often invited to their baby showers, weddings, and life events. I also offer something unique: I own a staging company, so I can provide professional staging for my listings, which helps homes sell faster and typically for more money.
My approach is highly systematic. I carefully plan every aspect of a property launch, including open houses and brokers’ opens, to ensure maximum interest from the right agents and buyers. My strategy includes maximizing exposure by leveraging public relations tactics and targeted content creation. This multi-layered approach ensures that each listing reaches a wider audience and stands out in the market.
I’m known for my strong follow-up, attention to detail, and high standards. Ultimately, I care deeply about every person I work with; I’m committed to making the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible for them.
Sincerely,
